Castles day

On Thursday, 'History off the Page' returned to Abingdon House. The theme for the day was ‘Castles’. All the children and staff dressed up in medieval costumes. The children had the opportunity to take part in arts and crafts workshops where they turned their hands to soap and candle making, writing with quills, leather stamping, bread making and moulding scary gargoyles to put on the side of the castle. In the afternoon we had a medieval banquet and the children worked in groups to provide the entertainment. The jugglers, dancers, actors, musicians and tightrope walkers were very amusing. We had a wonderful day where the children learnt much to support their learning through the creative activities. ...
