Our Aims

St Edmund’s Pre-Prep is a very distinctive place where children are happy to arrive at their classrooms each morning to share their news with their teacher, to see their friends and to start the day with a wealth of creative possibilities and challenges.

Our aim is to give Pre-Prep children a broad based, positive and happy start to their education, and then send them on to the Junior School with a strong academic grounding and a clear moral and social understanding.

2017-pp-Egg visit Sue house 190117 032We feel that if children are happy and feel secure in a stimulating and active environment, they are more likely to embrace the challenges
and possibilities that St Edmund’s has to offer. The school is proud of its dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced team of teachers and
teaching assistants who all work hard to support and achieve our aims. The high staff to pupil ratio ensures that, from entry to the Nursery at 3 years of age, every child is nurtured and that their individuality is valued.

We strive to give our pupils the confidence to discover, enjoy and use their talents which is an essential part of developing independence.

We actively encourage parents to share our aims, to participate in school life and to work with us as partners in their children’s education.

A spirit of friendship, consideration for others, self-discipline, honesty and a desire to learn is at the heart of our school and we endeavour to help children to extend this spirit to the wider community.
