St Edmund’s Festival hosted the welcome return of live music in Canterbury last month, with the incomparable soul and British jazz musician, Courtney Pine.  Pine performed a fabulous concert at St Edmund’s School, Canterbury as part of its renowned Festival.

Pine was on top form with his dazzling performance, bringing together vibrant musical styles deeply steeped in the traditions of the Caribbean. His virtuosity and improvisatory skills permeated the whole programme, supported by some incredible playing byRobert Fordjour (drums), Samuel Dubois (steel pans), Rio Kai (bass) with Dominic Grant and Chris Cobbson (guitars). The sense of energy and rapport between all performers was clearly evident and it was an honour to share in this powerful musical dialogue. It was an occasion not to be missed and provided the perfect way to start a new academic year. (SJP)

This event was made possible with the valued support of the two Festival Partners, Paul Roberts and The Canterbury Auction Galleries and event sponsor Burgess Hodgson. St Edmund’s Festival will return in June 2022 for a week filled with world-class music, theatre and art for all. See for details
