An informative day for Philosophy pupils
On Tuesday 16th October, the Philosophy, Ethics and Religion pupils in the Lower and Upper Sixth attended a day for teachers and staff at The King’s School, Canterbury with Mrs Gunn, which was both informative and enjoyable. Everyone had to chance to attend talks and workshops by various university professional philosophers, as well as text book writers and a Principle Examiner. Talks and workshops included ‘Free Will’, How to write a philosophy essay’ ‘Is the concept of God coherent’ ‘Euthanasia’ and ‘Kant versus Utilitarianism’. We all enjoyed Kings’ generous hospitality as well as a chance to talk to pupils and staff from other schools.
