Junior School sports round-up w/c 15 October 2018
Over the past few years a couple of sports teams in the Junior School have remained unbeaten throughout an entire term, probably a total of around 10 to 13 matches. However the U13A and B Girls’ Hockey Teams have got half way with 2 more impressive wins this week against Northbourne Park, 7-0 and 1-0. The A team having scored 36 goals for conceding only 4 times in matches so far.
The U11 Girls’ Hockey Team traveled to St Lawrence College for a triangular set of matches with the hosts and Northbourne Park. The girls played a series of short matches to complete a much improved term for the Form 5 and 6 Girls’.
The Boys had a chance this week to concentrate on some technical teaching lessons in preparation for the reverse fixtures in November and early December when the Molten League also resumes and cup competition for the U11 squad.
Our Cross-Country teams from Form 7 and 8 ran with success and enthusiasm at Somerhill, Tonbride with Adam Whitlock finishing 5th, with Tom Blunt and Henry Goodwin with top 20 place in a field of over 70. Zoe Rogers finishing in the girls race with excellent top 20 finish. The boys team overall finishing 5th out of 15 competing schools, the girls 7th.
Its been a great term of sport for our teams with nearly 100% participation in over 50 school fixtures and enhanced with our weekly PE programme that has been blessed throughout with great weather.
