The Dragonflies and Crickets Nativity Play – Shepherd Little

The Dragonflies and Crickets delighted their family and friends this morning with a super performance of Shepherd Little – a little shepherd who has a little trouble with the truth.

There was some exceptional singing from this young cast, with clear dialogue and well executed dance moves!

Charlotte, as Shepherd Little, performed her solo parts so well, along with Josie and Mya, Shepherd Little’s mum and sister.

The Centurions were smart and loud. Thomas and Lomax led the way with some synchronised marching and instruction. The Kings were eloquent, along with their excitable camels, Georgia, George and Poppy. Jamie, Mael and Oscar discussed the nature of their presents for the Baby before laying them gently before Jesus. Louis, Lucy and Emma played the characters of Joseph, Mary and the donkey perfectly.

The angels performed a beautiful dance to an instrumental version of ‘A Million Dreams’ from the Greatest Showman, which a number of the audience couldn’t help but sing along to! Greta as Gabriel and Olivia as Chief Angel, danced very elegantly indeed.

The children’s favourite part of the show was undoubtedly the star dance to Cold Play’s ‘A Sky full of Stars’ with Hamish at the fore and the rest of the cast backing up with unison moves. It was lovely, as was the singing of Away in a Manger. This brought a tear to many an eye.

Well done to all the children for a truly wonderful show.
