Senior School Lunchtime Concert

Thursday 7 March marked another informal lunchtime concert for our Senior School pupils, supported by both staff, pupils and parents. Alex Thorne opened the concert playing Fauré’s beautiful ‘Après un rêve’ on cello, accompanied by fellow Sixth Form pupil, Charlie Francis. All Fifth Form years were represented, from Joseph Henry and Ella Wheadon in the Lower Fifth, to Billy Boarman Powell and Billy Barker in the Middle Fifth, and James Press in the Upper Fifth. The audience was treated to everything from Baroque to Jazz.  Lower Sixth pupil Gemma Humphries finished the concert with a confident and crowd-pleasing performance of Bach’s ‘Allegro’ from the Violin Concerto in A minor. Congratulations to all pupils who took part and my thanks to Mr Payne for his flawless accompanying.
