Chamber Choir sing Evensong at Canterbury Cathedral
The Chamber Choir, conducted by Dr Rowcroft, performed a splendid range of music at evensong in the Quire of Canterbury Cathedral early this evening. For the gentlemen, it was a chance for them to return to sing again in a very familiar venue whilst for others, it marked their debut performance in this magnificent space. The chaplain, Steve Bennett, led the Rose responses with slick fluidity followed by the choir who echoed them with colourful sensitivity. The anthem was Timor et tremor by Francis Poulenc and Charles Francis from Upper 6th accompanied the whole service magnificently on the organ. Congratulations must also go to Fred Rupp from Upper 5th on his fine solo in the Howells Collegium Regale.
