Junior School Sport w/c 6 May 2019
Although the weather has been somewhat against us this week, we have continued to prepare for our forthcoming sports days, swimming galas and the triathlon in PE. We continue to teach the disciplines of athletics to the Upper School whilst in the Lower School we have worked on a series of agility and coordination skills to enhance the children’s athletic ability.
Match day Wednesday saw 10 cricket teams selected for school matches against opposing schools for possibly the first time in St Edmund’s History. Over 100 pupils were ready for action with 5 girls’ teams and 5 boys’ teams selected and then the great British weather took control of the situation and all matches had to be postponed due to rain!
The long standing wake up and shake up Thursday before school fitness club began with a great turnout once again at 7.45 am! All are welcome to join in with the club which will be held on the astro pitch this term. The table tennis ladder began also this week with the overall standard being exceptional and the participation brilliant.
