Whole School Open Day – Saturday 1st October

For families considering the next step in the educational journey for their sons and daughters (Nursery, Year 7, Sixth Form or somewhere in between) we are pleased to invite visitors to join us for our Open Day to get a flavour of what a St Edmund’s education can offer boys and girls aged 3 – 18.  For a sneak preview and to help you plan your day, please take a look at the timetable below.

9.00am Visitor registration and Leiths inspired breakfast Marquee
9.30am. 10.35am, 11.40am Big Band performance Colonnade
9.30am Guided tours begin Marquee
10.00am and 11.00am Head’s talk from Mrs Moelwyn-Hughes Chapel
10.15am Chamber choir workshop Chapel
11.15am ‘I’ve Got No Strings’ a short medley performance from drama scholars Chapel
11.30am Last guided tour Marquee
12.00pm – 1.30pm All visitors are invited to a reception in the marquee with staff Marquee

Stretch & Challenge

At St Edmund’s we offer an individual approach to teaching and learning so that all pupils can be stretched and challenged to reach their full potential. Visitors of all ages are invited to join in with our fun activities.

  • Bungee Trampoline – suitable for 7+, jumpsuit provided
  • Obstacle Course for under 7s
  • Brain-teasing Puzzle Challenge – against the clock puzzles for all ages
  • Giant chess – enjoy this classic game of strategy outdoors

  • Live photography session by Sixth Form pupils
  • Science – Hands on fun including making stalagmites and magic peas
  • Design & Technology – make a Darth Vader mask
  • Leiths School of Food & Wine – Italian break making
  • Duke of Edinburgh Award – camp craft
  • Combine Cadet Force – displays
  • Harry Potter experience in the library
  • Drama medley performance
  • Musical treats from soloists and ensembles
