the GCSE results are here!

Students at St Edmund’s School Canterbury are today celebrating an excellent set of GCSE and iGCSE examination results.

The overall 9-4 (A*-C) pass rate was 92% with the number of entries achieving 9-7 grades (A*-A) an impressive 38%.

15 Academic departments scored 100% success at gaining 9-4 grades (A*-C) grades for their pupils.

14 pupils averaged grade 7 (A or better) across all their GCSE results.

The School is especially proud of the 9-5 (A*-B) statistics which at 79% represent a significant increase on the school’s 2019 results (57%) – the last set of formal public examinations taken before COVID.

We now look forward to working with this talented cohort as they move on to A-Level study.

Head, Edward O’Connor said: “This talented and good-hearted year group has dealt superbly with the disruption created by the COVID pandemic.  Two years of hard work, resilience and collective and individual effort have led to an outstanding set of results.  They should be extremely proud of themselves.  I also want to thank our exceptional teachers not only for the classroom expertise but also for the remarkable job they did providing a highly effective remote learning programme during the lockdown period with tremendous support from our parent body.”
