Kent Schools’ Cross Country Championships 2020

Congratulations to all those who ran in the Kent School’s Cross Country Championships on Saturday at the Duke of York’s Military School in Dover. It was a beautiful morning for running, albeit a but chilly on the top of the cliffs! The Year 7 girls and boys were first off with three St Edmund’s pupils representing the Canterbury and St Augustine District Team. Daisy Baker, Hetty Moran and Joseph Gormley ran with confidence and should be pleased with their performances in their first experience of this event.

On the reverse, this was Alex Millard’s (U6) last experience at this event, one in which she has had great success over her time at St Edmund’s. This year was no different, winning the Senior Girls’ race by a clear margin and qualifying automatically for the Kent team at the English School’s Championships in Liverpool in March. Congratulations.

There were some brave runs from our other competitors too with Teigan Sullivan coming a superb 12th in her first year in the Intermediate Girls age category.

Well done to Jildou Chappell, Emma Gurr, Daisy Marsh in the Intermediate Girls, Adam Whitlock, Tom Blunt and Theo Bawtree in the Junoir Boys , Zoe Rogers and Gabby Scott Kilvert in the Junior Girls and Ali Scott Kilvert and Matthew Bawtree in the Senior Boys. They all impressed greatly in their respective races with determination and grit.
