The new Health and Fitness Suite is ready! The equipment arrived earlier in the week and the maintenance team have continued to work hard to add the final touches, including full length mirrors and a Bluetooth speaker system. It is a fantastic addition to our already magnificent facilities. All pupils are welcome to make use of the Suite. There will be opportunities for lunchtime and after school sessions, and sixth form pupils will be able to access the Suite during certain periods during the school day. Our L5, M5 and U5 pupils will be using this during PE and Games lessons too. Mr O’Connor assures me that he will be working out on a daily basis!
Once we have established a routine and timetable with the pupils, I hope to open the Suite for parents’ use. I will be sending out Pupil Consent Forms over the half term break which will need a parent signature followed by a pupil signature once they have completed an induction session with a member of PE staff.

Once again we have had some exciting matches this week. The 1st Vll Netball team and the 1st Xl boys’ hockey team were victorious against Sir Roger Manwood School. A 4-2 win from the boys saw two goals apiece from Rob Gain and Ali Scott-Kilvert. The girls’ game was a nail biter with some beautiful passing, turnovers and accurate shooting from both teams. 15-14 the final score!
Sean Bradley scored two goals in the 2nd Xl boys’ hockey match, who travelled to SRM in Sandwich. Good pace on the attack and solid defence was impressive, leading to a 2-2 draw. Well done.

Wishing everyone a very happy and restful holiday. We look forward to welcoming you back for another fully packed half term!
