St Edmund’s Sixth Formers Conquer the Lake District on Duke of Edinburgh Gold Expedition

Our Sixth Form pupils have returned safely after an exhilarating few days in the stunning Lake District, where they embarked on their Duke of Edinburgh Gold expedition. This adventure is one of the many outstanding opportunities offered at St Edmund’s, designed to help our students push their boundaries, develop resilience, and build lasting friendships.

Over the course of the expedition, pupils navigated challenging terrain, planned routes, and worked together to overcome obstacles. From steep hills and winding trails to unpredictable weather, every moment required teamwork, perseverance, and problem-solving — skills that will stay with them far beyond this journey.

Alongside the physical challenges, the expedition provided a unique opportunity for pupils to connect with nature and reflect on their own growth. Supporting each other along the way, our students demonstrated the values of collaboration, determination, and leadership that are at the heart of the Duke of Edinburgh programme.

We are incredibly proud of all our Sixth Formers for their dedication, enthusiasm, and resilience throughout this unforgettable adventure.
