Mr Comfort has extensive knowledge of both the academic and pastoral systems across the whole school having held various leadership roles, including several years in the boarding community, since joining the school nearly a decade ago. His strong personal ties with St Edmund’s now extend to his own children who thoroughly enjoy their learning in Pre-Prep.

Mr Comfort was appointed Head of the Junior School in December 2022 having spent time previously as both Director of Studies and Deputy Head wherein he implemented several key changes to the Junior School which he continues to build upon today. His further studies, including his NPQH and MA in Educational Leadership and Management have already helped inform the good practice evidenced in the Junior School and his aim for continual learning and growth will ensure the school’s practice evolves and continually improves to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils.
