Mrs Nichola Crouch

School Counsellor

I joined St Edmund’s pastoral team in September 2021, bringing a background rooted in care, empathy, and relationship-building. I qualified as a Humanist counsellor in 2016 and spent the next five years supporting adults and young people across Young People’s services, trauma agencies, private practice, and the independent sector.

Prior to this, I worked for over 20 years as a pediatric and neonatal intensive care nurse for the NHS and later with The King’s School nursing team, where my passion for mental health and wellbeing began.

My work focuses on supporting individuals who have faced trauma and life’s challenges, both in schools and beyond. Building trusting relationships with young people, providing a safe, understanding space, is central to my approach.

I believe pastoral care is about being present, approachable, and nurturing—an open door and a friendly face to walk alongside students through both difficulties and opportunities.
