L5 Innovation Project
Last term our L5th pupils were engaged in learning about the importance of personal skills in the work place and therefore recognising and building their own personal skills, they have participated in problem solving team sessions to enable them to develop their problem solving and teamwork skills, they have looked at why creativity is a very useful core transferable skill and how they can improve it, before putting the skill into practice. And finally, in the last week of term they have worked in small teams to come up with innovating ideas when provided with an everyday object e.g. a book, a ruler, a large paperclip, a paper cup, each member of the group had to come up with a new use for the item. As a team they had to decide the best idea and present their ideas to the rest of the class.
All pupils worked exceptionally hard on this and came up with amazing ideas.
With thanks to Mr Masterson and Mr Anderson who kindly gave up their time to judge the best ideas according to the following:
What was their idea?
What was good about it?
What benefits does it have?
Is there anything that isn’t good about it and how you would get around this?
Who will benefit from it and how?
Who in your team will present each section?
How will you present your idea e.g. mind maps, pictures, a song, a play, discussion?
