SENIOR School Sport

As we celebrate Sport at St Edmund’s, we can’t go without mentioning our relationship with Chelsea Football Club that we have developed over the past eighteen months. Whilst we started with coaching sessions for different year groups during games and PE sessions throughout the school, this led to an after-school club last year, which all were welcome to attend.

This year, there is a focus on a gifted and talented pathway. Pupils from each year group will be identified to take part in coaching sessions with Level 3 FA coaches from Chelsea FC Foundation department. This starts on Thursday 8th October for L5 and sixth form pupils. Parents have been contacted about this great opportunity which could lead on to training with a professional club. We are very excited about this, plus we are the only independent school in the area to have this opportunity.

Another exciting bit of news is that one of our middle fifth pupils, Alisha, was spotted and given trials at Crystal Palace and Gillingham FC. More updates to come on this!
