St Edmund's

Years 7 – 8

Year 7 Curriculum

Our Year 7 curriculum encourages curiosity, creativity, and confidence through a broad range of subjects and experiences. Pupils explore themes of kindness and courage in Wonder, develop problem-solving in maths and science, and build historical and geographical enquiry skills. They engage with languages, music, drama, and art, alongside outdoor education and sport to foster resilience, teamwork, and well-being. With a balance of academic challenge and personal growth, Year 7 lays strong foundations for future learning and development.

Year 8 Curriculum

In Year 8, pupils broaden their horizons through a diverse curriculum that blends academic challenge with creative and personal growth. From exploring class, medicine, and morality in Sawbones to investigating the English Reformation and tectonic hazards, students are encouraged to think critically and make connections across subjects. Alongside maths, science, and languages, they develop resilience and teamwork through outdoor education, sport, and the arts. The programme nurtures curiosity, confidence, and independence, preparing pupils to navigate complex ideas and real-world challenges.
