Date: Monday 6 May 2013
When Sergeant French planned the CCF Field Day he called it ‘EXERCISE RAIN STORM’ which ironically is what happened throughout the morning Inspection. M5 started by waiting their turn on the BB (shooting) lane with the regular Army and it was just as well that Sgt French had brought some soup along. Other M5 who had passed their weapon handling test were in the warm firing on an indoor range, while others warmed up on the assault course with constant activity led by the RSM of the cadet training team or Mr Jones, doing an attack on a bunker. The L5 (with another excellent turnout ) were building bashas (very useful practice for the overnight exercise), stalking in the woods, observing, patrolling and the inspection officer Colonel Mark Nash was very impressed by their efforts on a damp and cold morning. Date: Monday 22 April 2013
The National Youth Theatre is where many a respected thespian has cut their teeth in the early years of training to be an actor, so we are naturally delighted that a leading light of St Edmund's drama has secured membership of this prestigious organisation. Aimee Walker-Reid has impressed greatly over the years with her range of wonderful performances, including a mesmerising Blanche Dubois in Tennessee Williams', 'A Streetcar Named Desire', and as the all-singing, all-dancing Cassie in the Broadway musical, 'A Chorus Line'. Her sensitivity as an actress driven to find the 'truth' in all she does and her determination to succeed is inspiring in one so young. The NYT is made for young performers like Aimee, who was chosen out thousands of other applicants, and we wish her well in her continued quest to become a successful British actress...Comic Relief Charity Fun Run
